Kukouri’s Tiny Troopers series is another set of games that I never got around to playing. The series’ original Cannon Fodder-like RTS/twin-stick shooter hybrid was first released in 2012, while a sequel was released earlier this year. Today, nearly five months after the release of the latest game in the series, Wired Productions announced that the two games will be brought to Nintendo Switch together as Tiny Troopers Joint Ops XL this holiday season.
Tiny Troopers Joint Ops XL will include all of the more than 60 missions that were included in the campaigns of Tiny Troopers and Tiny Troopers 2: Spec Ops. It will also include eight “Zombie Campaign missions,” four maps that will let you fight against waves of undead, and a zombie survival mode. The controls are being adapted for the Nintendo Switch, as well, and will allow players to play with either controllers or the touch screen.
Wired Productions Managing Director Leo Zullo had the following to say about the announcement.
“Tiny Troopers is a modern arcade classic and simply great fun from start to finish. It’s a perfect game to play on the go and the flexibility that players will have on Switch will be an unparalleled experience.”
Tiny Troopers Joint Ops XL is set to launch on Nintendo Switch later this year. Its price has yet to be announced.
