Almost two years ago, Mane6’s charming Z-Engine-powered animal-based fighting game was funded on IndieGoGo to the tune of $596,346. A Backer-exclusive Beta followed this past May. Now, after almost four months of Backer Beta testing, the NDA is set to lift on September 15th, allowing the world to see the game that the company has been working on for the past several years for the first time since before it entered Beta.
From the announcement, it seems that the lifting of the NDA won’t exactly be all-encompassing. The announcement states that the first iteration of the game’s Arcade Mode should have been patched in by now, as well as the “Full Dynamic Music System experience.” It is unclear at this time, however, whether we will get to see the Arcade Mode once the NDA is lifted or whether it will be limited to modes such as the standard versus mode. To give a better idea of where the game is at at present, it was stated that “mechanically, the base game’s mostly there, and all that remains is filling the graphical blanks and polish the corners a bit.”
The announcement also states that, barring any major catastrophes, the game will be released on Steam by the end of the year. The first DLC pack, Goat, and Mac and Linux ports are currently set to follow in Q1 2018.
