Space Tyrant’s Latest Update Adds Halloween Content

Blue Wizard Digital’s roguelite 5X game Space Tyrant is getting into the Halloween spirit with the release of the Season of the Jack-o-Planet update. For some inexplicable reason, there’s a giant, carved pumpkin floating through space. Players will be able to visit it and take part in “Halloween-themed events” for the next two weeks before the Jack-o-Planet begins to rot. They may also come across Skullface from Blue Wizard Digital’s other game, Slayaway Camp, who has the ability to saw your ships in half.

The update also features a number of major changes to the game’s core gameplay. Commanders will now be put into a wounded state, rather than dying, and Senate Control is now the only way to actually lose a campaign. Militia and agitators have been removed from Monopolize missions, whereas “Passive Unrest” has been added to them. AI players will now advance their tech over time. Players can now access a ton of Explores that had previously been “accidentally hidden.”

You can find the full set of patch notes here. Space Tyrant is available on Steam Early Access for $19.99.
