SEGA Formally Announces PC Version Of Vanquish

It seems that the Vanquish image found in last month’s Bayonetta update was indeed a sign of an impending announcement that Vanquish would be headed to PC. PlatinumGames and SEGA formally announced earlier today that the cult classic cover shooter will be launching on Steam on May 25th. In fact, the game is already up for pre-order. Those who pre-order can grab the “Digital Deluxe Edition”—which includes avatars,  a digital art book, a “digital OST sampler,” and wallpapers—for $19.99, the same price that the game’s Standard Edition will be at launch. Those who own the PC version of Bayonetta can get 25% off, bringing the pre-order price down to $14.99—I’ve heard tell that purchasing both at the same time will also net you the discount in question.

The PC version of Vanquish will feature a number of PC-exclusive features, some of which are as follows.

  • An unlocked framerate.
  • Support for resolutions up to 4K.
  • “Extensive graphics options.”
  • “Full keyboard and mouse support.”

SEGA Europe Senior Vice President of Commercial Publishing John Clark had the following to say about the announcement.

“It was great to see the positive response from our community to the Bayonetta PC launch last month, and we are pleased that we are in a position to be able to announce VANQUISH, another of our highly requested back catalogue titles. There’s more to come from SEGA in this space, so stay tuned for further announcements.”
