In an unfortunate turn of events, Rockstar Games announced today that its long-awaited multiplayer Wild West game, Red Dead Redemption 2, has been delayed to Spring 2018. The game was previously set to be released this fall, but that target will not be met. According to Rockstar, the reason for the delay is that the game “will be the first Rockstar game created from the ground up for the latest generation of console hardware, and some extra time is necessary to ensure that we can deliver the best experience possible for our fans.”
In lieu of a release this fall, Rockstar will begin unveiling more about the game this summer. Seven new screenshots, which are embedded below, were released alongside the announcement.
