Back in the days of the PlayStation 2, I played a JRPG called Tales of Legendia. It’s rare that I find anyone, even fans of the Tales series, that have played the game, but I digress. The first thing that I thought of when I saw XenoHorizon’s Luminous Plume was Tales of Legendia, what with its JRPG gameplay mixed with a real-time, brawler-esque combat system.
Luminous Plume is set on a continent called “Celis,” which is full of both humans and monsters that are known as “brutes.” Players take control of a swordsman named Raven and set out on an adventure to defeat four beings called the Harbingers of Calamity or “Calamites.” He had gone up against these beings several years prior and defeated the man that was controlling them, after which he faked his death to avoid the burdens of being a hero. His adventure to stop the Calamites once again will force him to come face to face with “both the consequences of his actions and the weakness in his heart.”
Throughout their journey, players will learn new combat techniques and special abilities. They will also be able to “collect mysterious artifacts that can alter [their] powers.”
A crowdfunding campaign for Luminous Plume is set to begin sometime this month, with a full launch following sometime in 2018. In the meantime, you can find more information on the official website.
