How well does a 600-hour long cRPG that’s been in development for over 20 years and missed dozens of release dates sell over its release weekend? If that game is Grimoire: Heralds of the Winged Exemplar, the answer is around 2200 copies. Earlier today, developer Cleve Blakemore took to the comments of a Steam Community announcement stating that Grimoire was “selling like crazy” on its launch night to state that 2232 people had bought the game since launch.
Not too shabby for an old-school first-person cRPG that launched at $35.99 after 20 years of development. Hopefully, Blakemore will continue to share sales stats as time goes on. It would be quite interesting to see if sales remain fairly steady or drop off after the first week or so.
Should you want to join the 2232 people or so that have purchased the game since launch in playing through the 600-hour epic that is Grimoire: Heralds of the Winged Exemplar, it is now available on Steam for $35.99; the 10% launch discount is set to end on August 11th, after which it will cost $39.99 for the foreseeable future.
