Final Fantasy XV Gets…Assassin’s Creed DLC

I…hmm…I don’t think I have the words to describe how confused I am right now. Square Enix has a habit of creating DLC for its games based on other games that it has created, but this is truly an odd crossover.

So here’s how this works. From now until January 31st, 2018, Final Fantasy XV will be holding an in-game event called the “Assassin’s Festival,” which is “held in honor of a mythical hero who fought to resist the shackles of oppression.” During this time, various in-game mechanics have been introduced that mimic key Assassin’s Creed gameplay mechanics, such as the game’s signature “acrobatic movements” and assassinations. Players will also be given a chance to earn exclusive outfits based on those seen in Assassin’s Creed.

You can download the event DLC for free via the PlayStation Store and the Microsoft Store. You can find more information about the DLC on the official website.

In other odd Final Fantasy XV news, an update has gone live that introduces a “Noodle Helmet Outfit” based on Nissin Cup Noodles. The same update introduces new Timed Quests, a Bestiary, and a Chapter Select feature.
