Quite some time back, I used to play a lot of Call of Combat. I was admittedly pretty bad at it—I don’t recall winning a single game—but I continued to play it anyways. The game offered squad-based, turn-based competitive gameplay that was fairly unique at the time and continually challenging, as well.
Developer KAVA Game Studio has been working on a spiritual successor to the game called Divided We Fall for some time now. Following a year in Early Access and additional Alpha testing before that, the game is finally set to launch on October 2nd. The announcement was made alongside a new update that introduces a new suppression system, updates to weaponry to make each type of weapon feel more distinct, updated grenade mechanics that allow “more precise control” over where and when they blow up, changes to fog of war, an improved UI, improved regiment application features, and more.
Additionally, the company is offering players a chance to earn an extra Steam key for a friend later this month. From September 29th to October 1st, KAVA will be hosting a “Call of Combat throwback weekend” in celebration of the game’s predecessor, which will allow players to play Call of Combat through Divided We Fall. Anyone who plays either game for at least two hours during that weekend will be granted a medal and an additional Steam key.
Divided We Fall is available now on Steam Early Access for $12.99. It is set to launch on October 2nd for an as-yet unannounced price.
