Dead Purge: Outbreak’s Zombie Hordes Actually Look Threatening

It’s become somewhat of a running gag over the years that zombies in survival games simply aren’t threatening, taking on a role more akin to that of decorations than anything. Dead Purge: Outbreak appears to be challenging that stereotype with hordes of zombies that actually run at you in packs, with some hunched over, requiring you to adjust your aim if you want to hit them. It even features a “realistic combat and dismemberment system,” allowing you to, for example, remove zombies’ legs, causing them to have to drag themselves across the ground with their arms.

It is noted that there are several game modes available, but the main description seems to imply that Dead Purge is largely a survival game, albeit a single-player one. There are also leaderboards available where players can compete for high scores in the game’s Survival mode.

Dead Purge: Outbreak is set to launch on Steam on July 14th for $14.99.
