Blue Isle Studios’ online sandbox RPG Citadel: Forged With Fire officially went live on Steam Early Access yesterday. Players can now jump into the game, begin leveling their characters, studying various arcane arts, taming “legendary beasts,” flying on broomsticks, and taking part in various other wizardy activities.
Blue Isle Studios Managing Director Alex Tintor had the following to say about the announcement.
“We have been working hard on Citadel for a long time and hope that players take an active role in our development during Early Access. This is just the beginning of our journey, as we are committed to delivering a continuous stream of content with the goal to ensure that players always have something new to see and experience each time they get in-game.”
Early reception of Citadel has been markedly more positive than its nearest competitor, Dark and Light. It currently has a “Mostly Positive” rating on Steam; 76% of the 443 existing reviews are positive. According to SteamCharts, the game’s current peak concurrent user count since launch is 6028, which is fairly good, considering how crowded the survival genre is these days.
Citadel: Forged With Fire is now available on Steam Early Access for $24.99, temporarily discounted to $19.99 for the week of release. You can find the obligatory launch trailer embedded below.
