Axiom Verge Switch Release Date Pushed to October

Solo-developer Thomas Happ has announced that his indie metroidvania Axiom Verge is still planned for a release on the Nintendo Switch. The game was originally announced as an August release, but the planned date has been pushed back a few months to October 17, 2017.

The game will be available as the “multiverse edition” which includes a physical cartridge, double-sided poster, CD soundtrack, booklet with developer commentary and art, and a commissioned documentary by 2 Player Productions about the making of Axiom Verge. The multiverse edition will retail for $39.99, which is interestingly $10 more than on other platforms. Alternatively, if you’re not interested in any of the collector’s edition stuff you can save some money by picking up the eShop version of the game for just $19.99.
